I’m trying to find a DV codec that I can use with the Icarus software for video stabalization. I found a freeware linux codec at http://sourceforge.net/projects/libdv/, but I have yet to find a windows version. I don’t really want to pay $50 to buy a codec. Tried searching online with no luck. Anyone know a place to get one?
why need a dv codec? icarus can handle dv-encoded files on it’s own and for any non dv-encoded video you can use divx or about any codec installed in your system…
if you want to export a movie from icarus there is a slight problem or atleast for me icarus doesn’t allow any output with codecs. but it’s not such a big deal to export it as uncompressed avi and encode in virtualdub or some other prog like that.
that’s my 2 cents…
but it’s not such a big deal to export it as uncompressed avi
How do you export as uncompressed avi? The only option I’ve found in the save dialog box is for DV format. And when I try and save in DV it reports “unsupported movie format”. If I don’t need a DV codec, great! But I haven’t found a way around it.
I got that too.
This program looks pretty interesting, but I can’t use it if it doesn’t let me save anything!
