French cello

Hi there, i started making this cello 2 days ago, and i got stuck on the shading part, because i dont know what to do…

Could you people help me out here hehehe

I think the grain on the front of the cello is running in the wrong direction. What is the “shading part” that you are having trouble with?

there are cellos with woodgrain in that direction, the problem is the actual shading, like mirroring, for it to look more like finished wood

Which render engine is being used? BI or Cycles?

Sometimes it’s not always the shader, but environmental lighting (or lack thereof) that makes a render come up short. (A reflective surface may not appear to do much if there’s nothing for it to reflect.)
