I wanted to make a dog with fur, but there are not enough experts in this field. So that the model would not be abandoned, I decided to make it in the image of a statue.
Having the dog without fur actually makes the piece more emotional, and seems to fit the “robot universe” that you have there.
Fur/Hair in Blender for small projects is relatively accessible (I wouldn’t say easy). If you don’t need any simulation, the latest hair system with curves is actually quite intuitive, without the ridiculous tweaking required for the old particles version.
Select Mesh > (Shift A) Add > Curves > Empty Hair
Ctrl + Tab > Sculpt
Then sculpt away.
Thanks for the advice. I agree with you. But in fact, making the fur of an animal realistic is very difficult. I tried both particles and the new system, but so far I have not been able to achieve something good. Perhaps in time I will figure it out and post something else with added fur.
