From multiple meshed to real clones

This is not related to a real issue yet, but I just wondered that if one has 4 cubes that are identical, since they are duplicated with Shift+D instead of Duplicate linked (Alt-D). Is it possible to get from this situation to such, that one of the cubes actually is the root of others so that editing that would have similar effect to the other as the case would be, it the duplication would have been done with duplicate linked…

In other words (since most propably didn’t quite get what I was after)… is it possible to get duplicated meshes reverted to objects that are ‘linked duplicates’

TIA

Hello

sure, everything is possible with blender ( well, almost)

Select the clones and finally select the “root”
Then do Ctrl-L keys and choose Mesh Data in the Make linksa popup
