I’ve exported my sketch up model to a kmz file as told by numerous tutorials; I’ve even tried just exporting it as .dae file, but even that doesn’t work. Every time I import it into blender, it’s not there. I’ve checked the outline, and all the different layers and scenes, and it’s just not there. I’ve tried both of the Collada importers in blender, and I’ve tried it in blender version 2.49 and 2.53, and it doesn’t work in either. Nothing appears in 2.49, and all that shows up in 2.53 is an empty. I’m using Google SketchUp 8 to create the models, but they’re just not working right with blender. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
Anyone? I have this in the right section, right?
SketchUp 8 only came out a few weeks ago so I imagine Google have changed the format of the kmz file again rendering the tutorials you’ve seen obselete.
Try and get SketchUp 7 which has an excellent .obj exporter written for it which works well.

This how I get my Sketchup model’s into Blender.
@ ardee, I was using 7 before, then more recently downloaded 8. So it doesn’t work for me on 7 either.
@ camara, thanks, I’ll take a look at that!
