Anybody know what this part is called on the front of the chassis? is it the heat shield? looking for blueprints of this.
Can’t really tell from this particular photo, but if this encompasses the area where the bumpers and radiator grills on older cars used to be then generally it’s called the ‘front fascia’ or just ‘bumper’.
If it separates the passenger compartment from the engine compartment it’s called the ‘firewall’, which by the way, is where the internet term is derived.
But like I say, it’s hard to say from the photo.
Hope that helps.
pic. I am looking for this part (marked in red) I looke dup what you said but it was the back of a bumper. I also marked another part. I know the back is called a B or C pillar but I can only find two car images and no reference or blueprints . I know its called a monocoque chassis but there is no blueprints for that so I am doing the regular adi r8 or mclaren chassis. thanks for your help by the way.

The circled part would be the firewall and so would the opposite wall that’s being pointed at, you could even call them bulkheads.
The floor between the two would be the floorpan, and the entire unit would be either the chassis, unibody, or passenger compartment and if the suspension and wheels were attached it would called a “rolling chassis”.
Does that help?
yes thanks. I have found the front part of the firewall but cant find side and top references so… I am trying to model a a space frame then hopefully that will help me figure it out. thanks for your time and help.
