How the hell do you add materials or particles to just one face of an object at a time separately??? :spin:

I have an aerial architectural plan of a group of blocks of land, created from one plane with fences extruding from the edges and wish to have the blocks done with green grass and the fences brown. but when i add the material/grass, the whole object gets coloured and grassy!!!
Please help!!!

Create vertex groups on your mesh and then you can select the Vgroup (vertex group) when you setup your particles. Just make sure all the faces that need grass are in a single vertex group (may be call it Grass) and then use that single group for the particles. For more on vertex groups visit:
