Full Sail Advertisement Month 2 Render

Hey everyone, I’m a student at the Full Sail University. For all that don’t know, it’s a school for “Hypertraining” you for the entertainment industry. I’m a game art student currently in my second month and this is a project of mine that I made for them. The only thing left that I’m working on is the leaves, I’m trying to make a high quality leaf to be laying on the ground closer to the camera. So that’s all I know of that its missing. I know I need to put something in the background, but I can’t decide what. Here are 4 renders with different lighting styles. Really need some critique to help spark some creativity and possibly fix my render. Oh and I’ll probably use an external renderer in the final steps. Thanks in advanced!

The lighting looks a little harsh in all of the renders and it looks like in one of them, you changed the material of the text to try to compensate for it. It’s okay to use a direct light, if that’s what you are doing, but in a product shot it’s nice to see the logo. You could cut back on the harshness of the lighting by turning down the intensity of the light, and then add an area light in front of the logo a (rectangular type to control the size of the light) play with the intensity, with an inverse falloff to act as a fill, or you could use a classic three point light setup. I think that the harsh lighting is what I’m drawn to more. Another option would be to make the text shadeless, but you won’t get the dimension out of it.
