I remember some years ago seeing a youtube video of a sketching software that worked like a full screen overlay. It was also featuring an unlimited canvas.
The sketching tools were quite basic but more advanced than those annotation apps.
Anybody knows what I saw? I cannot find it anymore.
No those are more annotation apps.
It was more like a sketching app for story boarding, design revision

It was apparently discontinued, but somebody apparently made a “free” version of it, if you want to try it at your own risk.
Yes that was it! Darn to see it die.
I on the iPad use an app called concepts which is vector based and renders textured strokes.
Or alternatively use a simple utility like http://www.vanmiddlesworth.org/vitrite/
and enjoy the benefits of Krita or Photoshop. Or any other painting/drawing tool.
