like the title says, how do i get this?
Like the title implies… you download and install it.
thanks :o didn’t think it was so easy, tought it’d implent blender
when following this tutorial, http://www.blendenzo.com/tutGEText.html
i import the tar and then it says full install of python is needed, though i did install any suggestions?
A tar of what? Python or a python script? (Either way you need to unroll the tar ball)
It doesn’t sound like you installed python yet. I’m assuming you’re on a windows machine, because if you were on a linux machine, python would already be installed.
Did you go to the python site? You need to download an installation file for python 1.4.x and install it. A tar ball isn’t going to do you much good on a windows machine.
Here’s a direct link to the windows python installer - http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.4.4/python-2.4.4.msi
I DID install python, when I look at programs there’s a folder called Python and I installed it yesterday(version 2.5)
within the tar is a blend, a txt and a jpg file.
But I can’t add that, please take a look at the tutorial
also in the console of blender it says “No installed Python found” :S
Hi, on any platform, run blender and check the black box to see what version of python that blender was compiled on then download and install the correct version of python and install.
It is unlikely, apart from some cvs builds that python 2.5 would have been used to compile blender so that is why python is not found.
I do beleive this is the reason that in the near future there will be a jump in blender number,
2.3 next, then 2.5, to catch up to python version so as to try to avoid this confusion.
Thanks, M.A.

Blender versions numbers have nothing to do with Python version numbers. The current version of Blender - 2.42 - was released with builds using both Python 2.3 and 2.4 depending on the platform.
The next Blender release will be version 2.43. As always, you will need whatever Python version your copy of Blender was built with.
I guess you are trying to use my library script to import a TAR compressed item. Follow the suggestions above… and when you launch blender pay attention to what the console says, if you installed it right it will say something like:
Checking for installed Python… go it!
If it so… then you problem lies somewhere else… maybe the scripts isn’t working or you have and outdated version… are you using Blender Library 1.3.3? Download lates version here:

stiv, I made an observation after answering the same question for the umpteenth time in this forum. That was all.
its done already needed to install python 2.4 ( u see in the console what python version is needed)
