I saw a fur/hair demo blend file in this forum, seems like years ago, and can’t find it, it was a cube with ‘fur’ tht was like shells and fins or something. If anyone has the link, or the file, or a different demo I’d like to see it.
I remember that example I downlaoded I think I may still have it somwhere in my hard drive well in my old hard drive I will look around later but do you at least remember what it was called so I can just search it in my HD instead of actaully looking
(I think it was called like fur.blend or somthing like that -.-)
I know what you mean, but I don’t know the filename, or the person who posted it.
I will just go in the search window and just type in .blend that should show all the .blend files on my HD but I cant do that at the moment I am at my friends house :P. I will do that later but for now

This might be it. Doesn’t look like shells or fins, but it’s a cube and interesting.

If nothing else it’s really fun to spin the cube around. You get a camera error in 2.42 but just click and it runs fine.
Lol thats the file I was going to search for bookeater but I did not know what it was called.
So bookeater was that the file ?

It’s pretty cool, I remember when it first came out. It works good on a cube, but I think it wouldn’t work well for complex models as you would add 10X the amount of faces.

You could possibly still use a cube, only put the dots just above the hair, and leave the parts where there was no hair clear. Also, the slow parenting would probably work on alpha planes of hair just above volume hair to make it look more real. Something to play around with, anyway.
yes it’s the same one, thank you, it sure seems simple now that I look at it. I think that is called “shells” and fins would have horizontal faces.
Yep This Example Was Simple but very Nice when it first came out I still remember that well really I dont even remember what I posted on that thread.
Anyways glad to know that even an old .blend laying around the net or on people’s pc still comes ussfull
