Any crits guys?

Not sure what you’re looking for in crits… but from what I can see of the render, the mesh looks nice and clean. The design is pretty cool. Nice work so far.

Thanks for the reply Soter. With the crits question, I’m looking for some opinions on the design of the model, things I should add or take away from it, and what it should be used as (explaining the name of the topic).

hi…

the shape of the vehicule is pretty nice to me …at this point…have to see after it got more details on it …

keep it up

Nice could use some more details like screws. I think it looks like an underwater ship.

well, you should be shure which its gonna be…

underwater ships need rotors and such things. if that were in space, it wouldn’t move…

so yeah, i guess you better decide now before its to late ;]

in reply to nehpets, no they don’t all they need is a little imagination… However, i agree that you should know which you want it to be, it’s kind of the point of it being your creation. If you were making it for someone that wanted it a certain way then it wudn’t be your choice, but if you are just making it for fun it should be yours. as far as the ship itself goes, I like it. I disagree that it should have screws, because that would make it seem more industrial, and im more of a futuristic kinda guy. One thing i would suggest just cuz i think it would look AWESOME is using radiosity on the 2 wing things to give it a kind of glow coming out (i assumed they were the engines)… otherwise great model…

PS: can someone tell me how to get such wonderfull lit up models for test shots? :frowning: Is there a special lamp that people use? or maybe emit on the material or what?

Thanks for all your replies guys, it’s nice to have some feedback! I have decided to make it an underwater craft, since that’s what 100% of the people I’ve asked recommended.
I’ll try to add detail soon, but at the moment I’m trying to get all the main parts finished (as you can see, the are still holes in the mesh). Though I’m not sure about screws, I want this have to have an organic feel to it…

PS. way2lazy2ca: When doing test renders, I usally just have one lamp on either side my mesh (and up above it) and that usually works pretty well.

I finally figured out how to model the last part of the main body, whatcha’s all think?

Hey man great work looking alot more like the origninal concept, um there is a guy called nico who made a really cool underwater scene with a shark and put his blend file up for grabbs i think you could get som ideas from him.

great design my only problem is the 'Seam" on the top and bottom, if you are using the mirror modifier, turn on ‘do clipping’ and move the verticies towards each other.

Great stuff! I vote for… BOTH space AND underwater! Say it can fly in space, atmosphere and water… (and don’t anyone tell me it would never be able to fly in atmosphere… just look at the Millenium Falcon)

I really hope you are able to texture as well as you can model, this is looking good!
