I haven’t had very much time for personal projects just recently (been working on boring commercial crap), but I fired up blender at half past four this morning and this is what came out:
I think I know what’s missing, and I can’t quite believe I’m about to say this, but: there’s nothing between his legs! That guy looks more like he’s driving a flying car, than riding a flying bike. Maybe try spreading his feet, and extending that shiny bit with sqaure holes further back - this shoudl to stop him sliding forwards when decelerating, and make him look more like a rider than a gocart racer
Wow this is very cool!!! only one thing…you knwo on the present harley you see the engine…it would be cool if you remove the metal plate at the back so we can see it…just a sugestion…nice WORK!
Very good points the only problem with spreading his feet is the fact that he is actually an imported poser model, so that means no armatures to manipulate, and I’ll be damned if I have to wait another 20 minutes to imoport another stinkin’ poser .dxf
shibbydude:
Your right, the driver needs work.
X-WARRIOR:
I really wish I had the time to model an engine, this would make it outstanding, maybe in the next week or too…
If anyone wants me to write a tute on how to make wiring and Mechanical crap with dupliframes let me know (I’m working on a Matrix Warp effect tute anways) 8)
wow thats rockin! its nice to know, in the future our sky will be multicolored
great textures and blurrinessm and such a cool design!
im not to hip to the poser scene though =(
Very cool indeed! I agree with dittohead about it not being very Harley-ish, but that’s just my, ( and apparently dittohead’s), opinion.
As far as using dupliframes to get the tubes, etc., why don’t you just BevOb a bezier sphere along a bezier curve, convert to mesh and sub-surf? Less poly’s by doing it that way.
Damn! I really hope Harley Davidson will not ever even think of producing those things! No, it’s not ugly, it’s kinda cool (though the rider is in very, very wrong pose and the place for him is really awkward) actually, but it is DEFINETELY NOT anything HD-like.
Hmm… I don’t see any option to add a bezier sphere, and I can’t see how you would get repeated segments with the Bevob function anyway
Opps! Sorry, I meant to say Bezier Circle. My mistake. Also, as I said, it does get you way less polys, but the downfall is that you can not move verts as easy with the bezier curve to get a nice placement. You can also use the path function and BevOb along the path. You just need to set the path length to a very small number in the anim button window. Works very good as well.
but about the model, it rocks! but it’s not quite harleyish at ALL.
We have a harley… and umm… this does not resemble it at all, even when you compare their really old bikes to the incredibly new ones (im thinking V rod) they dont change much, except maybe change the styling. but that’s just my viewpoint on the design. is it me or does this thing seem too big to be a bike?
But, there are a few things that are really bothering me, like… how can this guy see ANYTHING? looks like he’s got a steering column and whatever that thing in the front is (incredibly large gas tank for rocket boosters?) right in his line of sight. also, all those tubes (i assume they are some sort of exhaust pipe) around the rider make it seem like a death trap :o
But keep up the awesome work man! hope to see more from you!

Haha! Allright, it doesn’t really look like a Harley at all I was half way through making it an thought “Wouldn’t it be nice if I stuck on a harleyish set of handlebars and called it a futuristic harley”
Yer probably right about the drivers vision too, those bars would obscure his vision bigtime
