Futuristic Planet

I’m trying to make a futuristic planet, but I need to find out how. Basically, it’s covered in buildings on all kinds. It might look kinda like Coruscant. I’ll do anything, from textures to individually making each building.

wow quite a huge task. a whole planet ain’t a piece of cake :slight_smile:
if you need just the space view, save your time and just make nice textures (water, land, clouds, cities with lights and stuff).

of you want to zoom down to individual buildings (from space view down to the cities) you’ll need to plan very good what should be build by polys and what you can do as a texture.

i would start with some concept drawings - this way you can judge what exactly you’ll need.

I only need a space view as of yet. If I ever need to zoom down I’ll probably just switch models. I need to make a really large an highly detiled city anyway, so would it work if I made an overhead render of that and tiled it with some alteration in PS?

Use the Discombobulator script for buildings & similar structures.

That script looks great, but would the guy who made it mind if I were to use it commercially?
