My friend and I have been using Blender for a little while and have been planning a game to make. Unfortunatly, there aren’t that many basic tutorial/resources out there (that we’ve been able to find) and we were hoping for a few pointers. Can anyone help?
Put them all together and connect them with logic bricks however you want… and set the cameras and stuff
add sounds
release a demo or something and if that worked and everyone liked it then you can work on a better project… That means don’t start a game if you haven’t made a little game or haven’t seen other’s games and viewed their blend files…
Sutabi - Sorry, I was just trying to find out the best place to start
rep-re-crea - Thanks, will do
orion119net - Thanks for the info, but a last resort at the moment I think (I’m flat broke :()
xintoc - Wow! Thanks. I’ll see what I can do and if I make some progress I will post a demo
OTO - Not self promoting are we? It’s a good site, I did the pinball tut. It helped out but we were trying for a bit of a 3rd person style game which (we think) needs different steps.
Thanks everyone. I’ll take your advice and get back to you.
Hello
I also have attempted to make a 3d MMORPG I have some landscaping done and a few buildings made, also have some animated character model and a spider monster animated , good idea is do everything by the book because I made my game pretty much the way i wanted not the way I should . It’s good to take advice and learn what can and cannot be done with blender. Also u should have a nice website for your game before u even relase a screenshot , Name and storyline is also important. Plan and write things down Goals and Accomplishments for the game and set a date to finish these things , It will provide motivation for completion. Read tutorials throughly dont jus read hal of it and assume to do it another way. READ CAREFULLY Do just as they say, I may have to redo 3yrs worth of learning and learn all again, because I didnt pay attention to tutorials. Well I hope for much luck to your game and would like an update link to your website when you have one made.
