guess, I haven’t posted a project here in a while, so I thought I might just post something and see what people think…

Done with blender apricot branch, no renders all views are of the low poly mesh only, in the blender viewport.

This looks really good! You are very talented. Have you thought about adding a bump map to make it look even more textured? He looks real cool.

Could be your lighting or your normal maps, but the normals dont really show up. It looks like just color and spec. Can we see you normal map and lighting setup?

Also I admit is is more difficult to see the texture unless you are closer to the model… for some reason…

Model looks really good, especially with the normal map applied…

The Texture looks very low-res, though and takes away a lot of the looks…

But that’s probably the texture issue you referred to…

that rifle…looks familiar…is it by any chance called an XM8?

Holy cow, that’s awesome. A little generic, maybe, but definitely has a professional sheen to it. That model could be in an XBOX game and I wouldn’t know the difference.

@iliketosayblah, nice call… ya, it’s a modified, xm-8 some to make it easier to model, some to make it at least a little original, and I thought it needed a shotgun attachment instead of the grenade launcher…

Good model… except for the eyes.

I think that even a “four-eyed soldier” ultimately can have only two eyes, because we have two eyes and otherwise we don’t know where the character is “looking.” The center two eyes need to be just a whisper brighter.

I’m always going to look at a character’s eyes… always. And, I need to know which eye to look at, and it has to match human “reality.” That’s what I think anyway.

Good modeling and texturing. Very good.

Sundial, i disagree. I can see where you come from about the four eyes, but i kind of like it cause it makes him look kinda freaky. Add’s an inhuman touch. so i guess i agree about your analysis of it’s effects, but i think it’s good. Maybe if he was supposed to be a good guy, that should change…

Anyhoo, wonderful model and textures. Fantastic. Reminds me of Metal Gear Solid style. Only crit would be to make the bullets in the rifle magazine black, and not visible. They look low quality, and honestly kinda poopy :smiley: other than that great work, nice poses, for what mod for what game?

Finally, can we get some poly counts, and maybe some texture maps and resolutions? if this isn’t all secrety and stuff.

Good models, but there is something problems with the normal maps. The lowpoly faces visible on the final normalmapped model… you can repair this I think.
