GameScene Temple Entrance

Hi, this is a game scene put together in Unity, all the models, animations, uv-mapping and so forth is made in Blender. This is my first real game scene though I’ve been working with blender for quite some time. The end part of the video might make you jump so keep that in mind :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice! This is similar to what me and my friend are going to try and do over the summer. Do you have any tips for a total newbie?

Tip’s ay? Hmmm…

  1. Keep patient, even though it looks bad now, it might look great in the end.

  2. Plan your levels out before you make them(which i didn’t with this scene, but for later scenes i did), if something doesn’t work in a level you should find that out way before you’ve spent allot of time making it look good.

  3. Look at each part of the process as a project in itself, if you’re making a tree for your scene, your mind shouldn’t be on anything else in the game, use your full attention to make that tree and pat yourself on the back when it’s done. If you do that it will seem less overwhelming, yes the scene is 2% along, but the tree’s are 100% now and they’re looking pretty good!

  4. If you’re making interior scenes you’ll save allot of time by making them modular, google it!

  5. http://worldofleveldesign.com/ this is a great resource, look for beginner tutorials there and learn the basics of level design.

The exploding walking head at the end is a nice contrast to the overall peaceful scenery. The monster itself has something surrealistic. If you want to make a whole game, you should keep this kind of style.

BTW: Greetings from /3/
