I am confused with the gamma settings being 1 in the set up.
I never hear Blender Guru or similar big tutorials out there speaking of it so much but they get great realistic results.
After making some google research I got the feeling that there is no need in Blender, like in other softwares, to set the gamma to 2,2 but that everything is set up already to work in a Linear WorkFlow already.
but I am not sure if I got it right?
Do you guys let the gamma to 1?
Have a look at this page. The gamma correction of 2.2 is applied to the linear output (for sRGB color space) by default. The Gamma slider in the Color Management menu is for additional gamma correction. In short, just leave the value at 1.0 unless you have a very specific reason to change it.
Color correction in Blender can be a bit tricky. Be weary of color maths in the default linear space, for example.
ah… ok, now it makes sense, I had not seen that, it is actually an ADDITIONAL gamma correction,
thanks for that.
