Is there a way?
For example locking rgb sliders, or linking the 2 or 3 dimension axes in the transform panel?
huh???
drag 2 or more sliders as one. mark several parameters and enter the same value for all of them simultateously.
give some examples
for RGB you can change to HSV instead !
but elaborate more on what you want to do !

I want to: drag 2 or more sliders as one. mark several parameters and enter the same value for all of them simultaneously.
For example, and this is only an example: I want to interlock several parameters like x and y dimension of an object so I can enter a value in the x field and the y field changes with it. Common procedure.
I know i can use HSV and I mostly do. It is not about something specific for a certain scene. The question is if this is possible in blender in general.
from a general point of view not possible that i know of !
for value you can copy and paste from one field to anoher one!
you might write a script for specific cases if needed
hope it helps

Thanks
There would be a lot of basic features on my list of requests before I even start thinking about rendering…
have you workl with other CG soft before or first time ever?
did you began working basic tut with blender
there are good sites like Blenderguru and Cgcookie that have good intro tut to blender
where you will learn how it works and learn many tools that already exist!

Actually, I’ve been working with blender when it still wasn’t opensource, and I’ve been watching it very closely ever since. I work woth almost any other commercial 3d software available, because I have to. I’m a freelancer. I own a AD Maya Suite but my favourite tool is softimage. So I have a bit of experience (I started 3d in 1987).
Every once in a while I install blender and do a little test project, sometimes even for paid work. Sadly I stumble very soon over issues in blender that would mean a step back compared to what I’m used to. Although less and less, which lets me hope
I bought a dvd last year to get an overview, but that and the manual don’t give a complete insight, so I have to ask here. Also most tuts are for the blender preset and input scheme and not easy to translate to my preferred maya preset.
you can always ask questions on forum
and someone will answer!
at least you know the basic language of CG
and that is good so many don’t even know that!
but it is true for any CG soft you need to practice before getting very good at it !
wish you good luck

It’s a feature that I have always felt would be useful to have in any dialog or panel that has scaling in three axes, because now one has to do it one by one and try to match them but it would be nice to just drag them together and look in the window to see the effect.
It’s not anything that can’t be done right now but would just be an enhancement.
It seems to me that marking several input boxes and then typing a single value is only marginally easier/faster than entering a value in one box and using keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste that value in the other boxes… just my 2¢
True. I imagine the advantage is in being able to DRAG (or SHIFT DRAG for fine adjustment) the sliders together while looking at the window. For instance now you can SCALE in the 3D view by simply hitting S and dragging. If tomorrow that were to go away and the only way to scale would be to scale the x, then scale the y and then scale the z dimension, would you miss it?

Point taken.
The older versions had that feature for object scaling, but it was really only accessible when you used the numeric input panel. I’m guessing it was redundant or they would have brought the feature over to the post 2.5 releases. For other values you can attach drivers to them controlled by one custom variable. It would have the same net effect.
