gaps when unwrapping a model

I’am modeling a head at moment, but when I want to apply the LSCM Unwrap there appear to be some kind of gaps in my mesh(the dark purple faces), most of these faces where the gaps appear i have created by selecting vertices and then pressing FKEY(make face)… does anybody
what the cause of this problem is and most of all how to solve it?


I am only a newbie so I could be wrong here but have you tried

in edit mode, select all vertices, then hit Cntrl N to recal normals outside then go back into UV Face select mode, did it fix it ?
