Gate acitivate

I’m sure there is a really a simple answer to this question and i’m just analyzing it too hard.
I’m doing a game and i need it so you can open a gate only when your near it. I did a ‘near’ sensor with the property of my player. a ‘Keyboard’ sensor with the button i want, an ‘and’ controler, and then the F-curve (u’m using 2.58) that plays 1-21 frames. Any help is highly appreciated.

The most likely problem is that your player object is not set to be an “actor”. Just go to the physics panel and check the “Actor” box. that should work. if it does not could you post a blend?
