GCN generation of a Graphic Card for Blender

Hi everyone,

I posted this question before but I guess I made it to long.

The thing is that Blender specifies that AMD graphic card must be GNC 2 gen or later for optimal Cycles render performance.

Is that a MUST or just a minor thing?
