GE Action Actuator Help

I’ve noticed that, throughout all of blenders resources that i have for weeks on end scoured for scraps of knowledge capable of assisting my seemingly hopeless attempt at rigging a simple character to MOVE when I press ‘w’, all efforts have been in vain.

This is a request for SOMEONE to simply write a tutorial or simply explain what goes wrong for me and those other lost souls trying, quite sadly, to figure out how the creators of Blender attempted to make this thing work.

PLEASE HELP US…

Hey there! You came to the right place.

First off, there are some things that need to be cleared up.

1: Do you mean move, as in, move forward (as in motion/force?)
Quick Answer: You need a dynamic actor object, (set in the logic panel), and you’ll want to use a motion actuator linked with a keyboard sensor, linked through a controller of course.

2: Do you mean move as in, play a move/run/walk animation?
Quick Answer: You’ll need to use an “Action” actuator that is on the armature, and activate it with a pulse from a keyboard sensor. You will need the action actuator to activate an Action, which is the animation for running that you want to use. For more info, try the action editor window, and then try google.

Hello

To make it work with 2.46 disable “collision” for the character’s faces!
Bye
