Geeky tribute

Hello,

I’ve been playing with the ocean sim as well as some other things. I decided as an excercise for myself, I would make a (very) short film with a tribute to a show I recently discovered…I’ll let you guess…

The piece was just for learning purposes and has more flaws in it than I care to list here, but still wanted to share. Everything except stitching the clips together (done in premiere pro) was done in Blender- lots of stuff in Nodes. Several shots rendered on Renderfarm.fi

Comments welcomed.

Thanks,
Rich

very nice work there. Great job.

Interesting video. I like the close-up shot of the warning sign bobbing up and down.

I really loved the saturated look… your textures and bobbing animation were all really nice. The music was perfect and I really liked the reveal at the end… is there a story behind this??? I’m intrigued. The only thing I didn’t like was the “who know’s” at the end… that kinda killed the atmosphere for me. But over all great job.

It’s a reference to a BBC show called “Dr. Who”. The “Silence” is a recurring monster throughout the show. You can see them all around us, but the moment you look away - you forget that you ever saw them. The heroes or the show would make a mark while staring at the monsters so they could realize that they were in their presence even though they could not remember.

Hard to explain - you need to see the show, it;s excellent.

PS Thanks for the comments. The saturation is all done with nodes.
