Maybe this has been posted before and I’m sure some of you have seen it but I’ve only recently seen the ad for [a certain car-brand] starring Gene Kelly and many others.

I loved it.
Most of all I appreciated the fact that there was only a strict minimum of CGI.
Sure you could have modelled the actor and rigged it to death and put a 3D environment in there, but the producers wanted real dancers and a real set.
The main CGI was that the image of Kelly was pasted on the head of the dancer.
It was tricky because next to doing all those breakdance moves the dancer had to make sure his head made the exact same movements as Kelly did.
Oh sure, you try it :]

I think this beats the living crap out of CG’ed to death films such as Vin “Butthead” Diesel’s Chronicles of Whatever.

Saw the Gene Kelly VW clip a while back,but the man behind the scenes is truly amazing beyond words.
i love those VW commercials. the end is great. i realy loved watching this one. i love this one as well: quite a bit different with some well very dark humor
