Hi guys, I thought this was the most appropriate place to post as datablock are related to everything in blender. Ive been messing around with blender to try to understand datablocks as I havnt really paid them much thought untill now. I found (wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/The_Outliner) this manual page (PS i didnt use and code formating for the URL as I did and it said the admins would alow it up once its checked, its been a day and it hasnt come up yet, I dont blame the admins, im sure its quite a tedious task). I understood it for the most part except the Object datablocks and OBdata datablocks. Now ive scoured blender and I cant find two different object related data blocks which has lead me to belive they are one and the same, although I must be wrong or they wont have been written as seperate things.
Secondly I have seen that you can link a material to either an object datablock (which again is confusing as its name is an OB block in blender so ill re-examine that with a resolution from my first question) or you can link it to the mesh that is in turn linked to the object datablock. What is the significance of this if any, does it mater which one the material is linked to? Thanks everyone:)
