So I had some problems with a big scene of mine where the HDRI made Blender constantly run out of memory.
My new found love for the node editor and procedural materials pushed me to see if I could build on the existing Sky Texture in Blender and use that instead of an HDRI.
I have fiddling around this afternoon trying to make something to quickly (and memory efficient) put a nice environment light in my scene.
It turned out OK for a afternoon fiddling around the nodes even though I am sure it can be done better.
The Blend-file is attached if you want to take a closer look.
I’m open for any feedback or suggestions.
And BTW I really dislike how the Sky texture node works, it’s not very intuitive at all.
