Generating Particles from object verts...... on subdivided obj

Hi guys…

I’m new to the forum…I did a search but couldn’t find an answer.

I have a simple setup…emitting places from verts on a plane…I want to be able to control the number of verts that emmit…through a subdivide modifier…this seems simple…but it doesn’t work… i have tried having the subdivide below particle system or above…one works better because it conforms to the shape…but sstill only does the 4 verts…its a 1 polygon plane… even if its subdivided and there are now many more verts…

am i missing something?
