Here is an improvement of the earlier walk cycle. Also included in the zip is the generi walk file itself. Along with your crits, you can edit the file itself to show me what you mean to demonstrate.
After reading my animation instruction book, The Animators Survival Kit, I figured I was ready for a double bounce. Besides introducing the bounce, I also improved the step and arm movements.
I’m using the Generi rig instead of Mancandybecause of it’s relative simplicity. I think Generi is easier to learn animation with. I still intend to move up to the more complicated and flexible Mancandy rig when I’m ready.
Here is an animation of Generi running… very fast. I was tempted to put some high speed techno or something in the video, but 17 seconds probably isn’t long enough. I didn’t use the book or a chart for this one, though it would have been better if I had done so. Still, it turned out alright I think.

Yeah JiriH, it is a good rig. I like using it a lot.
Here is another run cycle. It doesn’t show enough weight, but the other improvements make up for that.
I had to go back to mpeg4 after finding out Apple took away Sorensen encoding from the free version of Quicktime in their more recent versions. None of the new options seem to precache like before either. So what you get is a mov that the browser tries to open, and it takes ages to finish opening it… much longer than if you just save-as. So rather than forcing people to click save as, I’ll just continue using the mpeg4 container like before. I left it outside the zip this time to save you effort. There is no need to unzip anything unless you want the blend file.
so whats generi, an open source software?
BTW, i got that animators survival kit book. he talks and talks and talks about making twists to your walkcycle. i think the most helpful part is the picture. 
Lastly, n finally on topic, looks mighty pretty, but i can’t see them 
for somereason, i can’t quicktime. think you could youtube or vimeo them?
In the first post, I forgot to state Generi is the rig. I was hoping it’s comparison to Mancandy would be enough for people to know what Generi is. It is not software, it’s the rigged model.
The model was corrupted on upload the first time. I re-uploaded it and it should now work fine. You can play it in Quicktime or VLC. There are other players that can play the format too.
Here is my own model taking a walk. The whole reason I was doing practicing with Generi was to prepare to animate Cable.
Oh, and I found out how to enable Sorenson 3 in Quicktime 7.5. This seems like the best format for quick test renders that you want to put online… best for me anyway. Of course, for serious animation, I’d only go with mpeg4.
Either my university is throttling bandwidth on mov files now or something is seriously wrong (they already throttle flv…)
