Within Geometry Nodes:
How to export a GN curve to a “real” curve within Blender, so that Extrudes, Trims & third objects can use the curve that originated within a GN network with Curve modifiers, Follow path constraint, etc.?
It currently seams that even if the GN network is created on a Blender-Curve object, staying a Curve within GN (not converted to mesh) - Blender still views the object as geometry and not a curve, thus lacking the featured curves allow.
Thanks, however:
If it was a simple static modeling job, this might work, but not quite what I am seeking the answer to.
I need the GN to remain ‘‘live’’ and possible animated.
Generally anything generated within Geometry Nodes (Objects, Empties, Curves, Points) should have the possibility to be “exported” out into the Blender scene so that they can be used outside of the GN network.
Nope.
A. this is not an instance.
B. As described in the original post, the GN Curve was never converted into a mesh, it remains a “Curve” as far as the GN network views it. The output itself within the Blender Scene doesn’t recognize it as such, interpreting it as a mesh.
Yeah…I can’t seem to figure out a way to do this. So I think when you bring a curve into the geometry node tree you would need to find a way to also do those changes inside geometry nodes as well like Belnder.Fun said.
