Geometry Nodes Inquiry

I’m still very uninformed as to Geometry Nodes, however am impressed with the possible results.

I was wondering what the advantages are to using Geometry Nodes VS Particle System. I assume they are more configurable, but would like to know more.

Can someone elaborate on that?

I suppose that would depend on what your trying to make. But for most things, I think Geometry Nodes is actually better. I just made a tutorial on how to use Geometry Nodes, to get the same result as a particle system with nature assets on a ground plane. Here is the tutorial if you’d like to check it out. Hope this helps.

The advantage of Geometry Nodes is that it has so many more features and you can customize it much more then a particle system. When compared to Geometry nodes, Particle systems are really limited in what they can do. Particles still have there uses though.

The answer for your question is in the names → ‘Geometry’ and ‘Particles’

Particle System can use geometry as an instance and scatters it as particles according to chosen pattern.
Geometry Nodes on the other hand have a lot of tools that can edit geometry itself - hence the name.
