Getting a smooth color gradient with color ramp?

Hi,
I’m a bit new with nodes setups and i got here a gradient from white to black that i would need to be really smooth and progressive on the whole material. For now it’s really sharp even when i change the datas, add points in the color ramp, try texture mapping etc… and it’s probably simple but i don’t get how to change it.
Any idea? Ty!

And you have to set the depth by node computation ? Because you can use World properties → Mist Pass: start + depth and see this in camera settings Mist… and composite this… ?
Edit:( ?? Haven’t i seen this before ??? )

Well these things that seems obvious for you and probably strange to ask are a bit chinese to me since i’m new to this Blender part. Nothing is obvious when you start to discover a domain in a complex software like this, even searching the tutos because it’s hard to find the proper keywords.
I searched tutos before asking here but didn’t found something convincing.
Thanks i’m going to learn a lot from these two ones.

Null problemo, nothing is easy at the beginning, but sometimes the problem for the community is: What is the questioner really up to ? And you can see: we are eagar to help, but nobody had another idea… so you wanted a depth map?? We could help?

Yes you right, glad to you & AlphaChannel help and ideas i tried the compositing things and it leaded me to this tuto that was perfectly what i needed in an even simpler way : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzQMgbSEynU

The problem is just solved, with this kind of render imported in After Effect and a gradient color extraction effect done on it i can perfectly handle the depth of field that is stronger progressively with the depth of scene, thats perfect ! Ty again for your help.
