Getting a "thick" wireframe

Hello,

I started to play around with Blender which is really nice I have to say. However there are so many options that when you don’t know something it is really difficult to guess the right solution, hence my question:

I would like to get the following shape but I can’t figure out a way to do it.

Any idea/suggestion very welcome,

Many thanks,

Emmanuel

iirc, that is done via an old python script.

BgDM

Thanks for your answer BgDM, do you have any idea where I could
find this script? Or a keyword that could help me finding it?

Also I forgot to mention that ideally I would like to convert a Mesh
to this shape. i.e., erase the faces and “thicken” the edges.

I think it is the script called Solid Frame from Cambo’s site http://members.iinet.net.au/~cpbarton/ideasman/index_old.html

But if you’re looking for something else, I’m sure Fligh can help you

Thanks for pointing this out

hi, I just thought I’d throw this together. All the settings are there. Use set smooth. Geodesic dome script. took about 2min to get the settings right. Yeah I know no-one likes a smarty pants. heres the script

Myke: the script “wire_mesh.py” is just perfect, thanks again.

Meta-Androcto: thanks also for this interface, it is not exactly what I need right now, since the shapes I use may be irregular, but that is useful to know!
