I just managed to use TortoiseCVS ( http://www.tortoisecvs.org/ ) to download (CVS Checkout) blender’s sourcecode. I noticed that the documentation was not aimed toward tortoise and it took me quite some time to figure out what I did wrong.
Let me save you the trouble…
GETTING BLENDER SOURCE (around 56.7 MB)
1 - Create a new folder on your C drive called “bf-blender” (without quotes)
2 - Enter the folder and rightclick > CVS Checkout
3 - Enter at CVSROOT ":pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/bf-blender" (without quotes)
4 - Enter Module “blender” (without quotes) and click OK
GETTING REQUIRED LIBRARIES (around 78.5 MB)
5 - In “C:\bf-blender” folder, rightclick > CVS Checkout
6 - Enter at CVSROOT ":pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/bf-blender" (without quotes)
7 - Enter Module “lib/windows” (without quotes) and click OK
(Please note: I got a message “Empty password used - try ‘cvs login’ with a real password”, but the operation completed succesfully.)
