Getting the XYZ axis right? And moving animated humans right

  1. I am trying to get the XYZ axis to show up, so I can modify it if possible or make my models go exactly straight. Because when I try to get a model to go in the X-axis direction often times it doesn’t want to… :frowning: So anyone know the button for it? or a link to a tutorial explaining this? I looked heavily on at the Blender knowledge base for it couldn’t find it. Any help here would be good.

  2. I have created a mesh model of the human body, added armatures, grouped and parented them correctly, make a animation, built a logic brick with the key for foward being “w”, made controller, made actuator one motion one action. made a floor with texture on it, then i made 2 more logic bricks to turn right and left but when i try to walk and turn if just glides across the ground side ways. I want the model to stick to the floor texture when turning and such. also it would help if it would stop moving foward when you take you finger off of the key

here is a screenshot to give you look for your self perspective  http://www.freewebs.com/lightforcehq/human%20game.jpg

Thanks a bunch!

P.S. I am trying to texture a Rilfe that i have if i could get GOOD tutorials about complex texturing for games, that would be AWESOME!

First question - Go to the editbuttons and in the bottom left-hand corner there’s a button that says Axis, click it.

Second question - In the material buttons for hte floor click the button “DYN” under the RGB and HVC(?) buttons. Then pump up the friction. Also, for best results for running or walking, use LinV. Then set the Damp thing (in realtime buttons) to like .999 and you’ll instantly stop when you stop pushing th ekey.

Thanks a bunch!

Humm… about texturing that high poly rifle though?

Thanks again

What is the best way to texture stuff like a human body for in game use? using faces using vertex paint? A tutorial would help me out a lot  Maybe some expamples too :)

Thanks in advance (hopefully)

Go with UV texturing the faces…as for a tutorial I reckon Little OTO is one of the best, it helped me alot.
