Ghost outlines of objects in wireframe view

I’m getting these ghost outlines of objects in the viewport. They are not selectable, they obscure parts of the model and the grid when x-ray is toggled off. All visible objects in the scene have these ghosts; those at an incline are most visible. They disappear in solid view when x-ray is off. They are making modelling difficult especially on complex scenes.

Thanks for reading. Any ideas how to get rid of them?

There is no information in the video, so I can’t check the problem.
I just assume that it’s a modifier use.

Thanks for responding oo_1942 Kim

I’ve posted a different file but it’s showing exactly the same effect on my machine.

I’m not using any modifiers.

On the video, move the plane and a ghost image of the roof slopes move.
Move the roof objects and a ghost image of the plane moves.

I don’t have the same issue as the attached video.

  1. Are you using any addons related to ghost effects?
  2. Try disabling the loading of saved UIs when opening files.
  3. Try reinstalling your GPU drivers (uninstalling and then installing the existing drivers).

If none of these are the cause of the issue, I’m not sure.
Others may be able to test the files.

Please also attach your hardware usage.
Someone with similar specifications may be able to test this as well. :slightly_smiling_face:

Large files are crashing my system when switching to wireframe view.

I’m not using any add ons.

All system updates are current.

I think it might be to do with Blender version 5.0.0.

There is not the same problem with version 4.0.2, but then the files aren’t backwards compatible.

O/S and Hardware:

Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1155G7 @ 2.50GHz

It looks like a graphic card problem.
Try changing to Vulkan → Opengl.

There is an updated version of blender 5.0.

Changed from Open GL to Vulkan in the preferences and the problem has gone away. Thanks!
