Giant Sculptor

Another entry for a weekly Discord challenge I partake in from time to time (theme this week was ‘Giant’).

Concept and inspiration was directly from a wonderful digital painting by the artist Simon Dominic Brewer. I think I first saw the piece in one of those Focal Press digital art collection books. Sculpted rather crudely using ZbrushCore and Blender. Basic modelling done in Blender. Grass using Grasswald. Texturing in Substance Painter. Rendered in Cycles using an HDRI from HDRI Haven.

All in all it is a rather “quick and dirty” way of getting results. No retopology of sculpted objects. Smart UV Project used extensively and the sins of that hidden by Substance Painter. I kinda like how it looks though.

Honestly I think it works. I love the composition. It definitely tells a story and I like how it is sculpted. Well done!
