Gibon Les Paul

Hey all. I just started using blender about a week ago, and I’m trying to make a realistic Gibson Les Paul. It’s still in its early stages and I havn’t gotten into much detail yet but i would really appreciate hearing either what you like about it or what you hate. also, any ideas would be great. To all you experts out there: I’m trying to make the body of the guitar more glassy and less mirrory but still retain the color, and I have tried fooling around with the reflectivity, specularity, hardness, and mirror values, but I just can’t get it right!

ps. i used the funky background so you can see the mirroring of the wood, still, the body is too foggy and not glassy enough

Looking good. Try put some more hardness on it. It’ll make it more glossy. Can’t wait to see the final result. Good job.
PS: I love “Gibon” guitars lol

thanks speckless… hardness has been at 511 so i dont know what else to do… maybe I’ll try fooling around with the background and lighting to make it shine.

Hi mercuryjay,

You can try to change the specular shader from “cooktorr” to “blin” and probabli you will get bettre result. See the pictures bellow:
