Gift icon for packing an image texture-shader editor?

Dumb question: Can’t find this gift icon to pack a texture in the shader editor:

I don’t think it is the shield icon. or is the blender docs outdated

I guess it’s this box thing in Image Editor?

Yes that’s it !
No more gift box, now it’s a shoe box ?

Thanks. I think a pack icon should be added to the image node in the shader editor rather than the sidebar. The icon shows when you need to unpack it but it should be there if you need to pack as well.
Less mouse clicks.

@sozap They need to update the Blender docs. That doesn’t look like a giftbox tbh. The second icon is sufficient. It just needs to be added to the image texture node and it changes color if its packed and in use and maybe grey when the image isn’t packed to the blender file. Just like the shield icon.

Haha ,who are “They” ?

Or, “They” might change the tooltip to explain that this is the old gift-box icon

At least , everyone can edit the docs, that’s an area that can use some help for sure !

I guess it’s a bit buried because in general you either pack everything with file / external data / pack resources, or keep everything unpack. It’s not something you change a lot… So I’m not sure if it’s worth adding it to the node.

True but there are sometimes when you just need to pack a few of them and leave some linked to the nodes. There might be instances when that arises.

That is clearly 2 pop-tarts riding a roller coaster!

The actual name of that icon is, amusingly, UGLYPACKAGE.
