Well, the title says it all. GIMP2.6 is out. Will be some time for the windows installer, either you use linux or compile your own build.

I’m running to WilberlovesApple, at 700 mph!
Ouch. WIlber loves apple is 2.4.7. I’m using 2.4.5. .
I’ll wait for updating
I wonder if dynamic brushes and velocity helps painting with mouse and gegl is ofcourse interesting, gimp takes 30mins to build so its tomorrow then.
Btw. blenderman345 you are first person that I ignore on any board, bye.
I hope at one point also to see a OS X port as well !
http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html << windows gimp 2.6
I somehow hoped for a everything-in-one-window release, but alas, it looks like it was not to be.

That Jerjec dude delivers!
No Ubuntu packages (at least for Hardy) yet. I’m torn between http://www.getdeb.net/search.php?keywords=gimp and building my own…
jesterKing,
there is a way to make the 3 windows less “bitter” suggested by Michael W. you can find it here:
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=135815
for some reason i don’t see that option in the build you posted the link for… it worked fine on 2.5… are we missing something?
Great news, GEGL is that what i was waiting for… now i just need to wait for the OS X port.
Woot!
Looks like a lot of improvements have been made, and a lot of things made easier to use.
threads merged.

Paldo GNU/Linux already has a package for GIMP 2.6 YAY! (for those of you who run “testing”)
I build from source and gimp 2.6 is very good, and fast, tanks all gimp developer for this great tool.
Ps. Build in sabayon 3.5 linux 64.
I am quite in a hurry, so i haven´t read all the FUP´s yet, but this might be what you are looking for:
http://www.gimpshop.com/
Either wait for 2.6 to be gimpshopped or grab the source and build your own ![]()
spectacular
My favourite (new?) feature is stroke with brush… words cannot express how much I love that feature for painting hair…
under ubuntu there is everything in one window, by maximazing the main window. i do prefer the small theme, which you can set in settings theme and resize the toolbax to have only 2 columns.
tested this under vista, but the toolbar doesn’t stay on top of the main window and there are 3 entries in the task bar. tested with a build from this site: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html
