As a matter of fact, unified transform tool is already being worked on. If the guy is fast enough, it could be in 2.10. If he isn’t, then it’s probably 3.0.

yeah, i’ve tried for quite some time to compile locally from git. i just can’t seem to get that right. gegl eventually starts complaining about missing babl and vice versa.
i’m really desperately looking for a prebuild version or instructions that do work for me.

@prokoudine, I tried the mattheus ppa around Aug 27-28, even filed a bug report, but later found it was only 2.7.2 I was using. I may check it again in a couple of weeks, it wasn’t too big a deal to put 2.6 back on the machine.

Good news is that it seems 2.8 is completed soon (hopefully not 3drealms soon :D)
But there will not be more than 8bits image manipulation gimp 3.0 unfortunately.
Partha has new windows build of GIMP 2.7.4 that are up to date with the latest code.
And apparently with this, the GIMP devs have now fixed the long time problems GIMP had with tablet support.
