Finally I’m posting again! well… it has taken me some time to update my scene because my computer has slow memory and it takes lot of time to render (even in preview render of 10 samples) so this doesn’t allow me to try different nodes configurations as fast as I would like…
Anyway, here’s some progress of the girl bedroom scene
This time I tried to improved the light reflection on the window adding some texture and experimenting with the nodes editor, I think I still have to learn a lot about nodes but this what I’ve come so far, and thanks James_Z for the suggestion!
Also I added a texture for the bed sheet and pillow, I thought adding some contrasting colors will help to keep the focus in the bedroom rather than outside of the window.
And finally added a kind of raincoat clothing on the bed, to add more story.
wow, looks great. Yes I think the eye is drawn more onto the bed. The raincoat isn’t quite reading as a raincoat…
The bright highlight in the window pulls my eye a bit too much. You might try to use some brighter highlights on the teddy bear and bed.
The teddy bear might also be more important…in other words if it looked to be cared for. Perhaps placed carefully on the pillow…or perhaps tucked into the blankets.
The story I am making up is the girl rushed in to make sure the bear has a warm place to sleep after getting wet in the rain.
Very good start and nice mood! I think that the footprints are steel too close each other. Try to imagine the little girl that walks leaving the footprints like that, you will notice that her motion would be unnatural, with very short steps. And it’s still hard to understand what’s going on in my opinion. Why the suitcase is in that position?
I agree that the raincoat is not very recognizable. It could have more folds and be less stiff, maybe try to put it in a way that the sleeves and the hood are more visible!
