girl face

Hello all,

I’m trying again to make a face.
Any suggestions what to improve on the face?

As you can see i mirrored the face, but the 2 halves still look “apart”. At this render i have just 1 lamp in front of the face.

I tried several things, but i can’t seem to manage it…

Thanks, zlack

That’s top quality stuff.

I think the only things you need to do is find a way to remove the seem down the middle and extrude the lips out a bit more. Also, make it less reflective

Very nice.

That is exactly my problem. How do i remove the seem?

Thanks.

Have you welded the verts and done a rem doubles?<<edit>>
select two adjacent verts…
scale down repeatedly
click remove dobles in edit buttons

if it was succesful it will say ‘removed 1 double’ or something like that

and with what value should i put rem doubles?

the default value will do which is fairly low or if you wanted to do it with out scaling the individual sets, experiment with increasing it, but if you set it too high it will decimate your mesh.

To remove the seam, like Modron said select two vertices next to each other at the seam, push s, hold down Ctrl, look on lower left of 3D window, move mouse so cursor moves to the center of verices and x y z values are 0, press right mouse button. Rem doubles. Get all the double vertices on the seam and your seam will be gone.
Paradox

It turned out that i didn’t had a seem, but just wrong lightning :frowning:
Anyway, i updated the pic a pic, and tried to add some hair.

Does anyone know about a good hair tutorial? This is just a UVSphere which i messed up

C & C appriciated.

Thanks, zlack.

yea… the hair looks pretty sad, sorry but…

search hair tutorials, or landis, or go to the tut list

There is a tutorial on hair by landis in the WIP forum entitles peach fuzz something or other, that involves using alpha mapping, and another way is to use planes with a tranparency applied to them. to do that go to materials and click on ‘ztransp’ button, and turn down the ‘alpha’ slider.
<<edit>> also if you want to try a plugin, look for ripstings fiber script in python and plugins.

I hate hair!

i made a new update.

i tried landis his tutorial, but i found it hard to create “long” hair with it.
i saw an other technique, and tried to reproduce something similair.

comments?

cheers, zlack

its a very good start but something is wrong with her nose and her lips.
for the hair you can use a alpha-textur i think but im not sure about this because never made hair.
