Glass shader and the light path node

Hi,

I have a question about the use of the lightpath node in combination with the glass shader. When I use the glossy ray from the light path node the glass magnifies the object behind it. Does anybody know why this happens? I attached two images which shows one with and one without the use of the glossy ray. I hope someone can help and explain this.
