A refinement of the glowing orbs work I had been working on a few months ago. Looks like a light source hidden in a ripply-glass orb. No refraction shader was used, just nonlinear tricks with Voronoi and Math nodes, and fancy compositing.
This new version is more polished, a bit “hotter” with adjustment to the ripple patterns and the glare, and rendered higher res so I can sell bigger prints. There’s also the astronomy-inspired nebula+stars background faintly in the background.
Will have to post the new & improved material node and compositing setups next week, when I’m back in town.
