Hello
I have a little problem after some tweaking but don’t have success.
I have some actions i.e. run, jump, tumbling etc but they have different orientations. i.e. the run action running towards the -y global axis and the jump action jump towards the +y global axis and i would like to fit together to same orientation for well blending in NLA editor but as far i know only local mirroring possible in pose mode. I try mirroring bones in object mode but it generate many other problems for rigged character and seems to may only possible global mirroring in pose mode for good result. If this possible in the future it would be very helpful if i can mirroring global/local poses in selected key-frames in action editor as in 3d view.
yes yes i know that and i use them all often, but the global mirror is missing if i use ctrl+m (pose mirror) in pose mode and i think that no fungible width others.
Oh, right. Sorry, I misread. anyway, I don’t think there’s an actual mirror function, because of the misalignment and distortion this would cause. If the character is always doing these actions towards the direction he’s facing (whatever axis it is) you could just rotate the root bone so it aligns with its position in all the different actions. Also, in the future, make your animations face the same way.
yes, I’ve flubbed on that before. A quick solution is to just keyframe the armature in object mode every time you need the orientation to change so that it lines up correctly. A better solution is to prepare ahead and keyframe all the actions the same way… But obviously you know that now
