the thickness is same …it would be because of the camera lens value, here’s another shot…
… and i think ive missed out on one other thing… the grip needs to be a little flat at the front … mine’s too curved …

nice modeling, no critics for me !
Jeez that looks good,
Are you going to texture/model the magazine in great detail too?
yes, i am going to do the magazine too … and also a bullet …
Why is there white dots all over it???
That is the most realistic 3d gun I have EVER seen! Good job!
I think using a more solid color on the slide would look nicer. Also, the grip looks a little too shiny.
Dog
But this glock is made by modeling, not textures, so I like it better.
Although I’m a G19er myself I have to say, excellent detailing.
You got one part wrong though - Glock uses smooth polygonal rifling instead of the sharp groovy one.
I was unable to find you a decent shot of the rifling in a G17, but you should get the idea and rough dimensions from this picture (note: pentagonal rifling instead of Glock’s hexagonal on this one) and these specs.
woah … i never noticed it … i always thought there was only one kind of rifling… cool … but these refs show sharp ones … right?
these are from the pixagogo website , given by AlphaRed (- which have been of great help … thanks again!)
…
anyways, i’m too far in to mess with it now …
here the latest texture of the lower part…
Looks like, not sure about the first pic (must be fun to photograph the inside of a tube, right?), but the other is definitely grooved.
That means the owner is not using the stock barrel but an aftermarket one, probably because he prefers non-jacketed rounds to semi- or full metal jacketed ones (lead in a Glock barrel is a no no).
EDIT: I believe that the first pic is a hexagonal (6 points) stock Glock bore. Those visible lines are slight bulges at the vertices of the rifling head.
Yeah, the first pic shows a Glock barrel too. I’ve created a hexagonal bore in blender and rendered it with lighting +/- parallel to the axis of the barrel and the reflections and speculars turned out looking very similar to the real ones.
yeah , you were right, it does look similar …
wait a minute, you have one of these???
soo, im close to wrapping up this project, cya in the finished artworks section! :spin:
