Don´t eat them, from my experience with the Homer Simpsons cartoon series, this may be an indication they are highly radioactive.
Nice idea, and the green self illumination is by far more realistic than the horrible blue/purple self illuminated colorscheme in Avatar, which I wasn´t fond of.
We do not have the same insects over here in Sweden, as those fireflies in the United states, Ivé seen maybe two Lampyris noctiluca I think it was on the grass in a forrest shining with constant light with this color in the night, some chemical reaction together with oxygen I think.
Did you use some Lightsources inside or plain surface emission?
I think if you had a little more white brigtness in the center of that green glow, it would have given the image a bit of a more punch, just very subtle.
Thanks, never eat anything that is glowing is probably a good rule. We have fireflies here, it’s kind of magic to walk out on a warm summer’s night and watch the flashes of green light
The light was a plain surface emission. The white brightness is a good idea, I’ll try it out thanks.
Some have acess to a certain kind of nature magic, over here in Sweden we do not have that in the same way, so I am a bit envious of such rich nature.
In my 56 year old life, I can count the amount of spotted Lampyris Noctiluca on my right hand, and that by accident walking out a small path inbetween the woods nearby a lake on a late summernight, and I just noticed a green light in the dark forrest, strange though that I could notice it since I was so far away from it, and it was shining with a constant light, not any flasher here
That´s the only bug I think we have over here that is self glowing.
