GLSL wont work?

I need help with blender 2.49b, I cant get GLSL to work, an error message pop’s up “driver or card not supported”

You need a compatible graphics card for GLSL to work. Seems you don’t have one. Try updating your graphics card driver anyway. Otherwise you’ll need a new card.

This is a list of some graphics cards that support GLSL

  • ATI Radeon 9x00, Xx00, X1x00, HD2x00 and HD3x00 series and newer.
  • NVidia Geforce FX, 6x00, 7x00, 8x00, 9x00 and GTX 2x0 and newer.

Is there a patch?

Or some other game engine I can use.

I just want to try making a game.

have you tried 2.5 beta? or just using multi-texture?

Does 2.5 have a game engine?

If you don’t have a card that supports GLSL it won’t work with 2.5. My computer’s card broke down this summer i made sure that the cards on that list i gave you was one i could use for my computer because i was using GLSL. try using multi-texture as saeblundr suggests

Krum does not use GLSL. Decent graphics are possible without it, especially if you use some tricks, but it can add extra polish to the visuals.

If your graphics card doesn’t support GLSL then no game engine will get it to work, I’m afraid. It might be possible to use software emulation, but that would be seriously slow.

Graphics don’t make a game, though. Gameplay does.
