Goggle Sketchup's "Intersect" Equivalent?

Hello guys, how’s your sunday?

I’m looking for some help with what’s probably a really basic function of Blender but I can’t seem to find anything about it since I don’t think the terminology is the same in Blender as it is in Google Sketchup.

I’m trying to find out how to use one mesh to delete part of another. I’ve got a sphere, and I want to make a small cylinder, move it into the sphere’s outer mesh and then delete the cylinder, leaving a hollow tube inside the sphere. In Sketchup I’d use the “Intersect” command but how do I do that in Blender?

Sounds like the boolean modifier.

Richard

Thanks Richard. That sounds awfully complicated :S

I’ll check out that link

Yep, that’s what I’m looking for. Thanks again mate!
